The standard conventions for names in Zaidan are as follows.
1. Name order: Clan/faction/family name comes first, followed by the personal name. 2. Marriage: A woman is considered to join her husband's clan when she marries, and so will take his clan name, but she retains her ties to her birth clan, and so will also use that clan name. The form is as follows: If Tanaka Hanako marries a member of the Ishikawa clan, then her married name will be: Ishikawa Hanako no Tanaka. 3. Adoption: When a person is adopted, they append the adopting clan name in front of their own, thus if Inoue Keiji is adopted by a member of the Watabe clan, his name would be: Watabe no Inoue Keiji, however his offspring would be considered full members of the Watabe clan, and would not have the Inoue name in their names. 4. Recognizing bastards: There are no standard conventions for the names of recognized bastards, you can give them your clan name, or an entirely new one, it's up to you.
