I am reading Defending Heaven (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Defending-Heaven-Chinas-Mongol-1209-1370/dp/1848326602/ref=tmm_hrd_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1398594836&sr=1-1) an easy to read book on the fall of Song's China to the Mongol rulers. If you are interested in this kind of stuff, give it a go. Although this might be probably light for the more scholarly-minded.

I think I prefer your idea of fun reading. My current "fun" book is Henry Kissinger's DIPLOMACY.

My current bed time reading is "Annotated Competition and Consumer Legislation". 5 pages puts me to sleep every time.

That is actually pretty topical for one of the research papers I'm working on at the moment: the politics of UK defense procurement with a case study of the Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers.

Huh, I am the non-intellectual at the moment, I'm reading Knight with Armour, by Alfred Duggan My "by choice" reading is a fair bit lighter. I made the mistake of going back to university to a part time double-degree while working full-time and having 2 kids.

Just going to class full time and helping my wife is hard enough!

At the moment I am reading the Regent's Guide That! No time for other readings at the moment, maybe after my first turn I can start reading again something that does not involve "the DCC of your DAC + the MPLx + EPL, bla bla bla. Wait wait... a diplo post of that pain in the a** of the AosomethingAkana, well he choose a good timing as always, just before my well deserved sleep..." Anyway I think I'll start reading something very very light like a mystery novel of Nero Wolfe or something like that; 2 or 3 evenings and it's over.
