Warehouse
Questions: Is the upkeep a flat amount independent of the Warehouse level, for example do a level 1 Warehouse and a level 3 Warehouse both have a 0.5GB maintenance?
Comments: With the upkeep as a flat amount (best case scenario) and assuming a tax rate of 30% the Warehouse is only profitable if you have a level 4 holding and even then it takes 133 game turns to pay for itself (assuming you build it out of wood). I would only build a warehouse if I controlled all the law in the province and I had the perfect income boosting scenario from realm spells/prosperity (+2 province levels and +60% income for those who are interested).
Suggestion: Cut the maintenance to 0.1GB to 0.2GB.
If people want I can paste the reasonably complex tables that show my workings.

I wouldn't mind seeing the math simply because they seemed like a better deal when I did some quick calculations. I happily concede you're right, but I'd like to see where I screwed up.

I wouldn't mind seeing the math simply because they seemed like a better deal when I did some quick calculations. I happily concede you're right, but I'd like to see where I screwed up. Ok maths.
P = Province level
H = Holding level T= Tax Rate I = Income modifier (due to prosperity) M - Maintenance
Your normal income would be P x H x 0.2 x (1-T) x I
Your warehouse income would be (P+1) x H x 0.2 x (1-T) x I
The difference between the two incomes is H x 0.2 x 1(-T) x I (I.e. your gross profit)
But you need to pay maintenance on this so you get Profit = H x 0.2 x 1(-T) x I - M (I.e. your net profit)
The time taken for the building to pay for it then becomes Cost of building/Net Profit.
Assuming a 30% tax rate, no income modifier and wooden buildings (i.e. 2 GB per lvl) you get the following table.
Holding Level | Net Profit | ROI Time (DT's) | 1 | -0.36 | N/A | 2 | -0.22 | N/A | 3 | -0.08 | N/A | 4 | 0.06 | 134 | 5 | 0.2 | 50 | 6 | 0.34 | 36 | 7 | 0.48 | 30 | 8 | 0.62 | 26 | 9 | 0.76 | 24 | 10 | 0.9 | 23 |

Tristan, do you mind if I retain you in an advisory capacity for reviewing my turn orders?

Tristan, do you mind if I retain you in an advisory capacity for reviewing my turn orders? I'm happy to provide general advice, as this will be the 3rd PBEM Birthright based game I will be playing in, but I might stop short of reviewing your turn orders

Yeah, that is a problem, let me crunch some numbers and get back to you.

Yeah, that is a problem, let me crunch some numbers and get back to you. If I was at work I could send you my number crunching spreadsheet (if you really want it I can log in and grab it). Personally 0.2GB maintenance is the sweet spot, it makes for an approx. 20 turn ROI which seems to be the standard most other buildings are built too.

Just ignore the "/Lvl" in the cost and reduce the Maintenance to 0.25 GB.

I can't get into the House Rules site control page at the moment, so I will have to update it later when I can.

Holding Level | Net Profit | ROI Time (DT's) | 1 | -0.11 | N/A | 2 | 0.03 | 67 | 3 | 0.17 | 12 | 4 | 0.31 | 7 | 5 | 0.45 | 5 | 6 | 0.59 | 4 | 7 | 0.73 | 3 | 8 | 0.87 | 3 | 9 | 1.01 | 2 | 10 | 1.15 | 2 |
Again based on the 30% tax rate with no income modifier. Makes it worthwhile if you are in a dominant position (holding 3+) and has extremely good synergy with the Marketplace.
