The Nansei-do army deployed with the Abe forces on the right and in the centre with the Mori forces and the Kodama Cavalrytaking the left. The Ikeda deployed in a line across, and rapidly concentrated their forces on the Nansei-do left, overwhemling that wing, wiping out both the Mori and Watanabe forces, but in the end the power of the massed Abe archers proved decisive once again, decimating the Ikeda forces.
Of the original 13 companies of horse fielded by the Chuo-do army, four surrendered and the remaining 9 were wiped out.

The captured Ikeda are sent under guard to Iwate where they will be held as prisoners of war by the garrison. (The horses are recuperated for use by the Abe or to compensate allied losses.)
